Hello! I’m Sahithi Vidyarthi, the heart behind Yaami Sri Pickles. Let me take you through my journey—a story filled with flavors, memories, and the courage to turn a childhood passion into a growing brand loved by thousands.
A Lonely Kitchen Became My First School
I grew up mostly on my own. My parents were loving but deeply committed to their careers. Being a workaholic duo, they rarely had time to spend at home. As a child, I often found myself wandering into the kitchen—not out of hunger, but because it felt like the warmest corner of the house.
With no one to talk to, I started playing with ingredients. I watched how the dal tempered with mustard seeds danced in the pan… how the red chilli powder changed color with ghee… It was magical. I didn’t realize it then, but those lonely afternoons in the kitchen were shaping my life.
From Experiments to Experience
By the time I turned 15, I was already cooking for myself—and sometimes, even for neighbors who loved my mango pickle or soft laddus. My tiny “taste testers” circle kept growing.
But I still never thought of it as a career.
Marriage changed that.
The Real Turning Point – My Mother-in-Law
When I got married into a traditional Andhra family, I met the real master chef of my life—my mother-in-law, Sridevi Garu.
She wasn’t just a good cook. She was legendary. Her secret spice mixes, the way she used sun-drying techniques, her love for detail—all of it inspired me deeply. And instead of keeping her recipes guarded, she passed them down to me with love.
We bonded over food. Every pickle jar we made together wasn’t just food; it was a memory, a tradition, a legacy.
The Birth of Yaami Sri Pickles
After having my two lovely daughters—Yaagnika and Mihika—I realized I wanted to build something of my own. Something that kept our traditions alive but was also trusted by modern families looking for clean, homemade, high-quality food.
That’s how Yaami Sri Pickles was born. The name combines both my daughters’ names—Yaami—because they are my daily motivation.
What started in a small home kitchen quickly grew through word of mouth. Our friends, neighbors, and relatives began requesting our products for every festival, every trip abroad, and every craving.
What Makes Us Different
People often ask me, “What’s so special about your products?”
I tell them this:
- Every pickle is hand-cut, sun-dried, and made in small batches—just like how our grandmothers did.
- Our sweets like Boondi Laddu, Minapappu Laddu, and Rava Laddu are prepared using age-old recipes, slow-roasted to perfection.
- We make healthy snacks like ragi biscuits, millet laddus, and dry fruit laddus that even kids love.
- Every jar or box you order is not just a product. It’s a story, a memory, a tradition.
We never use cold-pressed marketing terms. We focus on honest food made with premium ingredients—fresh oils, bold spices, and pure love.
Challenges Were Many – But I Had Support
Starting a business wasn’t easy. I had no fancy marketing skills. Just faith.
My husband supported me endlessly. My daughters would watch and help me pack orders. But my biggest strength has been my mother-in-law—who still guides me whenever I experiment with a new chutney podi or sweet.
Today, we ship across India, and soon, we hope to reach global markets.
